An Afternoon Tea Menu

This was the menu for the Afternoon Tea that we held at WhimsyCon in about 2019. The con was at the Hyatt Regency in the Denver Tech Center, which has lovely hospitality suites that are suitable for gatherings like Tea and parties.

We had most of the furniture cleared and replaced with four or five tables, which were naturally set with china and silver, glassware, and serving tiers.

Top Tier - Sweets

  • Mini Cheesecakes

  • Chocolate Mousse cups

Middle Tier - Scones and quick breads

  • Scones - Blackberry, Blueberry, plain

  • Bara Brith (Welsh tea bread)

  • Assorted quick breads; banana, lemon, chocolate

Bottom Tier - Tea sandwiches and savories

  • Coronation Chicken Salad Tea Sandwiches

  • Cucumber & Chive Butter Tea Sandwiches

  • Egg & Cress Tea Sandwiches

  • Salmon Frittatas

  • Fig Paste & Gorgonzola Petit Toasts

  • Deviled eggs (2 varities)

  • Roast Beef & Carmalized Onion Tea Sandwiches

  • Lemon Curd

  • Raspberry Preserves

  • Clotted Cream

Punch

This menu leaves a lot of room for a wide variety of tastes and dietary restrictions. We made some sandwiches with GF bread, and provided GF scones; now macarons are available as GF also.
