Steampunk Soirée

  • Clements Center 1580 Yarrow Street Lakewood, CO, 80214 United States (map)

Our Steampunk-style Victorian Ball is returning in April, featuring Chris Kermiet as our esteemed Dance Master - those in the science fiction community may recall that he led a Ball at COSine several years ago. Chris has an extensive background in music and dance and is a recipient of the Heritage Award/Artist Fellowship from the Colorado Council on the Arts. Chris has been calling dances for well over 50 years.

We are very pleased to announce that live music will be provided by The Lily Guilders!

Intermission will feature Tea Dueling led by our highly entertaining Tiffin Masters, with prizes for style, a spectacular splodge, and equally silly reasons. Parasol Dueling is also on the schedule, as well as some tabletop games.

Chris and The Lily Guilders will start off the dance at 4:00; if you need set-up time, the hall will be open at 3:00. We’ll dance for about an hour, have an hour of Games Steampunks Play, and another hour of dancing - a full evening of Steampunk Diversions.

The wooden dance floor of the Clements Center is one of the best in Denver for Victorian Balls, and we are happy to have secured this great site. Punch will be provided. Please bring treats for the Refreshments Table - cookies, brownies, mini-cupcakes, fruit, etc. We’ll have a Steampunk photo backdrop for recording the elegance and spunk of your Ballroom Dress.

We have a strict limit on attendance; our last Steampunk Soiree sold out so we’ve increased the space and thus the capacity. Reservation link will be available shortly.

Early access admission is $30 per person, with discounts for DVSS members, and kids. Don’t yet have a membership? Ticketing options include DVSS admission, plus annual membership. Volunteers are needed, and will be offered a substantial discount.

As always, Neo-Victorian and Steampunk attire is always admired, but never required.
