Melanie Unruh will be teaching embellishment techniques suitable for Victorian and Steampunk feminine dress, Saturday and Sunday June 28 and 29. This is a 2-day workshop.

We will explore historical embellishment techniques using ribbons or fabric strips, including ruffles, pleats, ruchings, rosettes, and piping. Basic hand-sewing skills will be used for creating samples of each technique.
The cost for this workshop is $100, including primary source copies. If you are a DVSS member, message us for a coupon code for a discount on your registration. Sorry, we cannot refund registrations; they can be transferred to another person though. A luncheon Tea will be provided.
Please bring the following tools and supplies:
Ribbon - at least a couple of spools of double-faced satin or grosgrain ribbon, 3/4” wide or wider
Equipment and tools
Needles, including a large-eye handsewing needle, and regular handsewing needles
Sewing pins
Matching thread
Measuring tape
Pencil
Ruler
Scissors - paper and fabric; snips
Seam ripper
